CAR REGULATIONS
1.
Any front engine car,
hard top car or station wagon is allowed. No trucks, jeeps, carryalls, 4 wheel
drive, ambulances or hearses, etc.
2.
Safety belts and
approved safety helmets and eye protection are required and must be worn.
3.
All glass must be
removed.
4.
No pre-tucking of Demo
Derby cars permitted.
5.
Original gas tank to be
removed - mandatory. Recommended type of tank to be used - best tank,
boat tank, homemade tank. No tank to hold more than 5-6 gallons. To be placed
in forward part of trunk or back seat area. Covered with canvas or rubber
material. Note: No spillage of gas or automatically~disqualified. Gas ONLY
6.
No roll bars, trailer
hitches or reinforcements will be permitted. Cutting fenders and bumpers for
wheel clearance and/ or restriction of steering is permissible. No chaining up
or down of suspensions, welding to any spring or spring support.
Cars must be level (factory stock) with factory size leaf springs.
7. Any car with a door coming open will be disqualified.
8.
Doors must be fastened shut by wire or
chained. Driver’s Door may be welded.
9.
Hoods and deck lids must
be in place and operable.
10. Wire can be positioned in four areas of trunk and
hood, double wrap, providing
wire is attached to the trunk or hood and hooked to adjacent sheet
metal only and not to frame or bumpers.
11. Must have
12" hole in trunk and hood on each side of motor for fire protection. Stacks
permissible.
12. Battery may be moved to any reasonable position in the
car, but they must be securely fastened to the car and must be covered with a
suitable shield.
13. Radiator must remain in original position.
14. All cars must have both doors painted white & (1)2
foot square area painted white on
driver’s side only on top of car. Numbers may be painted on Prepaid
Entries so that number on top may be read while standing at rear of car.
Numbers will be given on first come basis.
15. Cars must have brakes before beginning of heat
16. No shock springs, air shocks or shackles.
17. No Painting, under coating, of frames or inside
car. 2 spring knuckles per side in
front.
18. Transmission cooler is permitted, but only if they are
secured inside the engine compartment.
19. Double tires will be allowed on 15" passenger car
tires and rims only. L.T. tires are
allowed. No screws, ballast, etc. No valve stem protectors. No Bigger than 10ply tires.
20. With the exception of slightly welded front bumper
shocks and rear end gears, no other welding
will be allowed except driver’s door.
21. No 4-wheel drive units, no radio helmets, no radio
communication!!!
22. A bar may be placed behind driver seat for driver
safety, if attached to sheet metal only, not the post. Plates may not be bigger
then 6" sq. Pipe no bigger than 3", may be welded or bolted or both.
Bar may be put in windshield up and down.
23. This rule
applies to Figure {8} Racers Only,
Drivers door must be reinforced.
Two {2} in. pipes or larger, or 1 ½ in. angle iron with minimum of ¼ in.
thickness should be used. Bars must be
inside door skins. Driver door may be
welded.
24. Compact Cars (Maximum 107” wheel base. No V8 motors in Compacts.)
25. Drivers entering 1977 car or newer must have proof of
year of car (for example: vin. # & title)
26. Front and rear bumpers must be 1977 and newer, for
1977 & newer cars derby only. Front on Front. Rear on Rear bumpers.
27. Body bolts, washers and rubbers need to be factory
stock any year of car. Front core body
bolts may be changed no bigger than ¾”

RULES AND REGULATIONS
1.
Each
and every driver is required to fill out entry blank.
2.
Derby
officials may accept or reject any and all entries. May not participate in any heat if pregnant.
3.
ONLY DRIVERS WHO HAVE SIGNED THE RELEASE SHEET WILL
BE ALLOWED ON THE TRACK.
4.
No
car will be allowed on the track prior to the heat in which it is to
participate.
5.
INTOXICATING BEVERAGES. OR THE USE OF. ARE PROHIBITED PRIOR TO
OR DURING THE EVENT
6.
Derby
drivers and crew are independent contractors, not employees of the Association
or promoter.
7.
NO
DELIBERATELY HITTING THE DRIVER’S DOOR.
8.
If
it is necessary for a car to cross over the boundary line, this will be
permitted, but driver must bring vehicle to a complete stop after reentering
the boundary line, before proceeding to
participate in the event.
9.
You
must stay in your car. Do not leave your car unless you are told to do so by an
official or after the last car has stopped.
10.
If
an emergency arises during any event, all cars must return to their original
starting position to resume heat. If it is unnecessary to move any car or cars
during an emergency, then heat will “restart” from present position.
11.
Additional
safety regulations may be imposed at the derby due to track conditions.
12.
THE DECISIONS OF THE JUDGES AND DERBY OFFICIALS WILL BE FINAL!!!!
DRIVERS ENTRY
1.
Minors
must have a notarized release from parents or guardian.
2.
Driver
qualifies in one heat for Feature may not run in another heat or
consolation. Entries not transferable.
3.
Any
driver and/or pit crewmember will cause his car to be disqualified when arguing
the final decision of the officials. ANYONE ENTERING THE TRACK
AREA OTHER THAN THE DRIVER WILL CAUSE THE DRIVER
TO BE DISQUALIFIED.
4.
Eligibility’s
for feature event must be a heat winner and/or runner up. Must use same car in feature event. Only previous heat cars & drivers may be
used in the Feature and Consolation.
5.
Any
Derby Car found illegal can result in
disqualification at any time.
6.
Entries
for Figure 8 race may be limited to the
first 40 entries.
INSPECTION: Derby officials reserve the right to inspect any and all cars entering in the Demolition contest at any time.
