General Rules & Regulations

1. Where errors occur in publication of fair premium books, circulars, flyers, tickets or any other official fair printing material, the Fair Board reserves the right to make awards or charge price in accordance with correctly stated premiums or prices in similar cases. The decision of the Board’s Executive Committee will be final.

2. It is mutually understood and agreed that, in the event of fire, windstorm, disaster, act of God, act of war or public authority, riot, accident, strikes, scarcity of energy of fuel or any act beyond the control or power of either party preventing the holding of the Mercer County Fair in full or part, neither party shall hold the other liable for any damages of any kind.

3. The Mercer County Agricultural Society reserves the right to cancel or modify, with or without notice, any or all of the provisions, premiums or purses specified in our premium book without recourse, if required to do so by conditions beyond our control which would, in the opinion of the Board of Directors of the Mercer County Agricultural Society, seriously interfere with the holding of the fair.

4. The Fair Board reserves the right to interpret the rules, herein published and also the right to rule on all questions not covered by these rules. All decisions of the board are final. In order to maintain the public trust, the Mercer County Fair Board Secretary and Treasurer shall be bonded in accordance with rules governed by the State of Ohio. The cost of said bonds to be paid for by the Society.

5. There will be a 12:00 midnight curfew for all people on the Fairgrounds, unless engaged in essential work, sanctioned by the Directors of the Fair Board and the Sheriff’s Department.

6. All persons staying on Fairgrounds must be in bed and lights out at 12:30 A. M. , 1/2 hour after midnight, unless excused by the Fair Board.

7. Any person violating rule No. 5 and/or Rule No. 6 will be removed from the Fairgrounds. Failure to comply will result in a charge of trespassing.

8. Any violation by the Exhibitor will be subject to forfeiture of all premiums due him or her, and he or she must remove all displays from the Mercer County Fairgrounds.

9. No bicycles or motorcycles will be permitted on the midway or other congested area of the Fairground. Parking of these vehicles is provided at the East entrance of the grandstand. All such vehicles found in unauthorized areas will be confiscated and held for the duration of the Mercer County Fair.

10. No animals will be ridden on the midway. Areas are provided in the West field.

11. No vehicles, except emergency vehicles, will enter fairgrounds after midnight without special authority from the Fair Board and Mercer County Sheriff’s Department. Vehicle will be considered in violation of trespassing regulations and will be impounded by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department.

12. ANY VEHICLE PARKED IN AN AREA OTHER THAN IN A PARKING AREA, WITHOUT PERMISSION, WILL BE TOWED AWAY AT THE OWNER’S EXPENSE.
